What is the Daring Way?

The Daring Way is an approach to life developed by Brene Brown.  Dr. Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston.  For more than a dozen years she has studied vulnerability, courage, shame, and self-worth.  She is also the author of three #1 Best Sellers on the New York Times list.  She was the original developer of this life goal.

By definition the Daring Way is a methodology that can help every segment of our society.  It applies to men, women, and even adolescents.  It teaches you to show up, to be seen, and live each day braver and more confident.  This method can be taught to individuals as well as teams and can be facilitated in a professional or clinical setting.

America is ever-changing.  It is a brave new world out there.  If you live in the San Antonio area, you can learn to live the Daring Way.  Become familiar with Martha Leesman.  Marty is a licensed professional counselor.  For nearly 20 years she has assisted individuals and couples.  She will explain the benefits of living the Daring Way.  Call Martha Leesman today at (210) 606-6861 and make an appointment to see her at her office located at 143 Sunset Road Suite 201.

Becoming an Empty Nester.

It is the time you have been waiting for… and the time you have been dreading.  The last child has left to strike out on their own.  For two or three decades the two of you have raised a child or children to adulthood and you have thought about this as a time for rediscovery.  There are steps that you can take to avoid “Empty Nest Syndrome”.

Prepare your child and yourself for their imminent departure well ahead of time.  Dispel any thoughts that your offspring cannot make it on their own.  Plan on how you will stay in touch with the kids.  Begin focusing on your own personal needs, which you may have put on the back burner for years.  And by all means do not hesitate to talk to someone about these new feelings.

If you live in San Antonio, Texas you have the great fortune of getting to know Martha Leesman.  Marty is a licensed professional couples counselor in the Alamo City.  For nearly 20 years she has assisted individuals and couples who are dealing with separation anxiety.  Don’t go through Empty Nest Syndrome by yourself.  Call Martha Leesman today at (210) 606-6861 and make an appointment to see her at her office located at 143 Sunset Road Suite 201.
